2008 Chambourcin: $12
Developed in the Loire Valley in France, this grape is a new variety that is very happy on Lake Erie’s north shore. (Silver and Double Bronze Medal Winner)
Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah have been expertly blended and aged in oak barrels to produce a wine with hints of soft vanilla and fruit, and a long warm finish. Pleasant Pairings: Full rich dishes will work best with the big flavours of Double Barrel. Moroccan lamb, pepper steak, most Greek foods, or a BBQ burger are some good matches.
2006 Double Barrel: $14
Cabernet Franc and Merlot are blended in this balanced, complex red to produce a full body, mellow oakiness, and ripe blue fruits. Pleasant Pairings: Serve this red with a Mediterranean vegetable ragout or a pot roast simmered in garlic – or with a wild mushroom and Camembert bruschetta.
